Established in the fall of 1999 and based in Madison, Wisconsin, A Better Home is a full-service design and remodeling company owned and operated by Jeff Augustine.

Working with his family on their own house in the early ’70s as a child, Jeff had gained experience installing sub-flooring (with grandpa’s help), mixing concrete, and hauling lumber. He put himself through college working for a small Madison remodeling company as a crewman and has been involved with the Madison remodeling industry since 1998. His work has since been featured in Brava Magazine and The Wisconsin State Journal.

Erin Lynett

Designer

erin@abetterhomewi.com

Erin decided to make design her career after going through a remodel in her own kitchen.  She has worked on the supplier side of the business in showrooms dealing with plumbing, cabinetry, and countertops and is excited to help homeowners with their product selection.  Erin’s favorite part of the job is space planning and imagining multiple layout options.  She has a degree in Kitchen and Bath Design from NKBA accredited Century College.  Erin’s dream home would have a conversation pit and vintage fireplace.

Vashon Jennings (left), Corey Loring (right)

Carpentry Team

Vashon spent more than a decade working as custom cabinet maker and display unit prototyper.  He’s worked with wood, metal, and plastic.  Once he got a chance to take part in installing his creations, he knew he didn’t want to stay in a workshop all day, and that’s what brought him to the remodeling world.  Vashon’s specialty is finish carpentry, and he seeks perfection.  Vashon’s dream home would have a nice, big kitchen.

Corey got his start in construction framing new houses.  He was drawn to remodeling for the chance to work on different types of projects and learn new skills.  Corey likes to think ahead and solve problems, which may be attributed to his astrological sign: Taurus.  Corey’s dream home would have a heated driveway and a golf simulator.

Nick Finley

Carpentry Team

Nick is the young guy on the crew, and you may see him driving our van.  He comes with experience in HVAC and installing flooring, but wanted to expand his skills.  He’s looking forward to being able to fix his own home someday.  Nick’s dream home would have a bowling alley.
