Jeff Augustine

Owner/Project Manager


Established in the fall of 1999 and based in Madison, Wisconsin, A Better Home is a full-service design and remodeling company owned and operated by Jeff Augustine.

Working with his family on their own house in the early 70’s as a child, Jeff had gained experience installing sub-flooring (with grandpa’s help), mixing concrete, and hauling lumber. He put himself through college working for a small Madison remodeling company as a crewman and has been involved with the Madison remodeling industry since 1998. His work has since been featured in Brava Magazine and The Wisconsin State Journal. In addition, Jeff is currently studying to become a certified Photovoltaic (solar panel) installer through the Midwest Renewable Energy Association.

Lead Carpenter


Jeff grew up in the northwest suburbs of Minneapolis, where he started working for his uncle’s remodeling firm as a teenager, where he continued to work full time after college. He has since been in the remodeling industry for over 24 years in larger metro areas of Washington DC and Chicago.

Jeff became a certified Lead Carpenter in 2005. Jeff has also completed OSHA Safety Training, and is RRP Certified.

He brings his quality construction skills and experience to the team. Jeff builds every project with integrity and high quality craftsmanship that lasts for years to come.


Caitlin Bark, NCIDQ

Interior Designer


Caitlin grew up near a small town in southwestern Wisconsin, where she loved to rearrange and redesign her parent’s home. Caitlin attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Interior Design program. She was awarded numerous awards for her designs and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design in 2009. She then worked in the retail design industry for over 6 years, designing store layouts and furniture vignettes.

Caitlin holds an NCIDQ Certification, the industry’s highest standard of proficiency in interior design principles.

Caitlin brings years of space planning experience and creative design solutions to the team, making each project special and interesting. She is detail-oriented with a great eye for color and pattern.
